Robert Zimmerman Jr. to Piers Morgan: "The jury has spoken and they've been very clear"
On an evening which saw the jury in the George Zimmerman trial find him not guilty in the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, Piers Morgan welcomed Robert Zimmerman Jr. for an exclusive, face to face interview.
The brother of the former defendant, Zimmerman Jr. joined Piers Morgan on Saturday evening, offering his live reaction roughly an hour after the verdict:
"I've been very clear what my personal view is, and I think so has the jury. The jury has spoken and they've been very clear," Zimmerman Jr. told Morgan in a face to face interview. "Self-defense means you were defending your life from a real perceived threat."
Having spent the weekend in New York – while much of the rest of his family were in Florida – Zimmerman Jr. joined Morgan in studio with his explanation as to why his brother was not guilty of the charges, and why he suspects the jury agreed:
"Whether or not you were injured to the degree that some would have you be injured to in order shoot someone or not, you actually perceived an imminent threat of grave bodily harm or death," said Saturday's guest, explaining why debunking self-defense proved to be such a hurdle for the prosecution. "That is what the circumstances were that surrounded George in the moment he fired his pistol. That's the law in this country. The jury's been very clear. They agree with George. It is unfortunate that someone lost their life."

All lies! Well, one thing is for certain...you would never pass a lie detector test like Zimmerman did. You should be ashamed of yourself. Let it go. Life is too short. With hate, it's even shorter.
Martin was not just a teenager but the evedence shows he attached Zimmerman. He was expelled twice from school and came from a broken home which may explain why his father did not know that he was not back in the house the night of the incident. He went out after 7pm. His father did not report him missing till the morning. So I respecfully would say to them that they treated their son as if he was an adult. All good parents would have been on the phone all night. To not act as a proper parent and check that their 17 year old was not in the house at night is a disgrace. So all of you saying that he was a child holding sweets. Wake up ! and respect the court ruling.

You know STOP blaming the parents because parents CAN'T be everywhere! If that was YOUR son oh how you would feel about the verdict then??? Exactly. He was 17 so yeah was a child oh I'm sorry teenager and since we talking about back grounds, Zimmerman had run ins with the LAW, not expelled from school "smoking pot" the LAW so that can go both ways. No you wake up and stop high fiving killers that get away with murder and you know the bad part is that Zimmerman HAVE to live the resr of his life hiding. Oh how sad to be free when you really aren't right? You want people to respect the court so why don't you Zimmerman supporters respect Trayvon's family and the anger, hurt of Millions who are dissappointed in the "system". I guess that's what happen when you lose a fight and find a excuse to shoot and kill somebody. Should've stayed his ass in the damn truck. What a coward!!

I, not on nbhd watch, ventured after a miscreant into the middle of our parking lot and was accosted by the miscreant and assaulted in my bare feet, swimming trunks, and nothing else but sunglasses which were knocked across the parking lot. I was an officer of the condominium and felt I owed it to my fellow owners to catch this bum. The cops treated me as the assaulter of the guy who was inches taller and dozens of pounds heavier and a bouncer at Bennigan's (and a guy who wore a gi to his classes). I READ THE COPS THE RIOT ACT for being stupid and part of the problem.
For the race-baiters, the guy was white white and I was tanned from the summer sun so maybe that is why the cops thought they had to treat me bad. Not the reason. They knew him from the local restaurant where they probably had helped him throw out drunks and thus saw nothing wrong with him roughing someone up in his rental apt. parking lot.

I am so glad you gve this girl a chance to tell her story and explain her views. I just don't understand why the prosocution did not get her to talk like this and why the Jury thought she was an un educated and bad communicator. Zimmerman is accountable for Trevons death, and will pay in some way. Bottom line he profiled trevon and then got his ass kicked , and instead of running away or fighting back the chicken reached for his gun.
You got most everything right until you overlooked that getting one's tail handed to him and head bashed all from someone you had not threatened nor touched prior to the sucker punch, opens the door for one to use the weapon least deadly but still likely to stop the beat down. Here there was only one and only one shot and it proved deadly.

Here in America it is a jury .of your peers, which is irrespective of race and race alone is not a proper basis to strike a juror although the prosecution rightfully struck a black juror (for watching Fox News)
The media has blown this case out of proportion!!! How many people die from being shot by another person every day in the U.S and we don't hear a word about it? It is because the media and others have made this a racial case. Is it okay for African Americans to kill another African Americans but different because a Hispanic killed someone of the African American race? The evidence was presented and the verdict was decided upon based on that evidence. Everyone should support the decision.
I am appalled that Obama or the federal government would comment on this case. They should be spending their time running the country, which is a mess, and not get involved in one specific-case.
CNN=stop covering it and let it go! This country lost 20+ firefighters while doing their job and trying to protect so many, leaving 51 children without their fathers. How much time did the news give to this tragedy? And yet one case is getting 24 hour coverage on every news channel. The media will be responsible for all the trouble that will follow in the days to come.

Your lack of professionalism during this case was appalling to say the least. You have manifested anger and a biased position and I am disappointed with the way you have treated this case.
You are part of the machine that turned this case into a monster case and injected race and anger and failed to recognize the real motives of the death. You, as everyone else do not care that a young man lost his life and have no consideration for someone else‘s life – you just want to benefit from this whole charade. Have you noticed any increase on the viewer’s ratings?

It is so very sad how the media, MSNBC, and especially Al Sharpton, have stirred up hate in black people. Unbelievable!! They should be completely ashamed of themselves. How/why do they continue to do it? I'll never understand. Zimmerman was tried and acquitted. It was the evidence that proved his innocence. I am black and so ashamed of my people. A people that I once had high respect for.
There has been enough conversation about this trial to last a very long time. I know some people may view this as historical by I view it as hysterical. Unless people are having a problem with selective hearing, then there should be no question. Granted, Mr. Zimmerman is guilty of poor judgement but that is all. As I understand the story (unless it’s all lies), Mr. Zimmerman got out of his car to follow Trayvon Martin and called 911. Several minutes passed between the call and Trayvon Martin jumping out of the bushes to attack Mr. Zimmerman from behind. If someone was pounding my head against the concrete after he had already broken my nose and I was carrying a gun, I would shoot that person too. I don’t get the riots at all. Oh, and while you are rioting, why don't you rob a few stores?
Only Oakland is rioting daily and that is a good percentage for the nation and bad for the Oakland and Oakland area police who have to deal with these young criminals.
Norma Susan I do not get why the commentators can not point out that Zimmerman was beaten and Trayvon was untouched except for one bullet hole into his heart and out of it. You did it easily and they are consistently omitting it raising the rabble to a boil due to this lack of the only salient detail in this whole thing: George was beaten up and Trayvon ws unmarked until the gun shot.
Wolf Blitzer did it the wrong way this afternoon as does Piers more often than not. However Piers called George Zimmerman, a Hispanic by anyone's measure, the new media term of white Hispanic (father-mother) and so from now on I will call Obama a black-white (father mother) man as per one of the Piers Morgan methodologies.
