Christine Quinn on her record: "It's a record that not just Anthony, no one else running for mayor this year can touch"
With the New York City mayoral election less than three months away, on Wednesday evening Christine Quinn returned to "Piers Morgan Live," and she did so holding top spot in the latest poll, a position perhaps bolstered in part by Anthony Weiner's latest gaffee.
In the past, Quinn has battled her own addictions, including eating disorders and bulimia. In light of such struggles, Piers Morgan asked his guest to discuss Weiner's continued quest for acceptance and redemption:
"Anthony Weiner is asking New Yorkers for a second chance," Quinn noted. "He's shown a pattern of reckless behavior and an inability to tell the truth. Being the mayor of New York – we've all made mistakes and deserve forgiveness – this is a serious job. We have 8.4 million people who need a mayor who is a serious, focused adult."
Setting aside the sexting scandal, Quinn noted Weiner's lack of political action, versus her own record on the New York City Council:
"When Anthony Weiner was in Congress, 12 years, he passed one bill," she stated. "Juxtapose that to what I've done, making sure that the scam of crisis pregnancy centers was uncovered and stopped in our city, this is a record of delivered for families that's real and has helped our city .... It's a record that not just Anthony, no one else running for mayor this year can touch."
Seated directly to Quinn's right, famed women's right activist Sandra Fluke jumped into the interview, explaining why she has recently announced her endorsement of the New York City Council Speaker:
"We have a chance to have the first woman mayor," she noted. "She's been a role model for years and electing the first female mayor will send a strong message."
All outside issues with Weiner aside, Quinn said she's never had any doubt about her shot to call Gracie Mansion home:
"I felt good about my chances from day one. And the truth is, in elections like this, what matters is what you've done."

personally, Quinn comes off as a pure politician and that always worries me. she was selling every possible second she was on the show and when people do that, it doesn't come off genuine. Piers was trying to talk about Weiner and the "grandpa" incident and she would just move forward with her agenda instead of answering questions by the host. weiner has his own addiction issues and i'm not sure being a recovering alcohol and drug addict is any better. seriously, there are no better candidates? and i do sympathize with her on women issues, but women only makes up half of the new York population.
Like front runner she'll be a break thru. It will be interesting to see who Bloombucks endores.
The well endowed Anthony needs a big miracle.
