Piers Morgan answers "Daily Show" challenge, produces Segway video, looks to collect $10,000

In the ongoing battle between British television personalities, for the moment, Piers Morgan leads John Oliver by the slimmest of margins.

On Monday evening, Oliver, currently filling in for Jon Stewart as host of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, had a laugh at the "Piers Morgan Live" host's expense, referencing a tumble the latter took while riding a Segway in California.

Showing extreme enjoyment, Oliver offered a ten thousand dollar reward for the individual who could share evidence of the infamous Segway spill.

Less than 24 hours later, Morgan himself answered the challenge:

"Mock all you want Mr. Oliver, but, my fellow Brit, your punch line did carry with it a bona fide offer, to anyone you said, who could produce the video of me falling off a Segway, and by the way, breaking five ribs, collapsing a lung and nearly expiring from life," detailed Morgan, further explaining Oliver's bit. "Well, guess what John, I have the video, it's real and it's right here."

Rolling footage of himself hitting a curb, and popping off the motorized machine, Morgan attempted to collect:

"Satisfied, John? I hope you are, because that was as painful as it looked. But now it's time for you to suffer pain. Ten thousand dollars worth of pain in fact," he said, referring back to Oliver's offer. "I assume the money will be delivered by the end of business day tomorrow. If not, I'll make sure that Mr. Stewart, now he's back from his lengthy movie making sabbatical, will take it out of your measly little salary."

There's nothing funny about Piers Morgan falling off that Segway which almost killed him. I don't see why John Oliver or anyone would receive joy from that horrible accident near death video of Piers plunging onto the hard pavement. However Piers is right about John's bona fide offer. Time to pay up the $10k to Piers. Hey John Oliver the clock is ticking...Pay Piers HIS $10k.

This is the epitome of your career Piers. Constantly hitting the curb and somehow getting paid for it.

    Dear Piers,
Donald Trump's attempt to collect Bill Maher's $5M joke offer failed as miserably as yours will. Please discontinue being a total putz.

    Dear Piers,
Maybe you fell off the Segway because you were distracted thinking about the bold faced lie you told about Virginia having the number 1 murder rate in 2009? Turns out the facts show that Virginia had 23 states in front of it for that honor – you lying moron. CNN why do you put up with his lies and non-professionalism. And you wonder why there was an exodus of your viewers to Fox?

There was no curb. He made it up, like most of his facts. It truely is amazing that he even has a job. It is almost a shame he wasn't traveling at a higher rate of speed, it might have knocked some sense into him.

John Oliver is too dam ugly and nerdy to be a comedian. His jokes are pathetic and not hard to come up. All he does is trash and degrade people for jokes. He should look at his horrible face with his crooked teech and stoogie Moe haircut and untolerable accent and disappear. No wonder his rating have fallen since last year.

What a defensive and childish retort. I found the jab humorous, as did many others. Whatever happened to "stiff upper lip"?

Ban those evil assault segways now. I think Piers has found a new cause to crusade for, and hey, it makes as much sense as the "Assault" weapons bans he crusades for.
