Roughly a week since a wild, multi-vehicle incident along Manhattan's West Side Highway served to enrage and horrify those that have watched the various videos, on Monday evening "Piers Morgan Live" welcomed the wife of one of the men involved, as well as his attorney, Gloria Allred.
Edwin Mieses is one of several motorcyclists who was hit by Alexian Lien's Range Rover, and though he's been released from the ICU, he remains paralyzed.
"Piers, Edwin is clearly a victim," explained Allred, who joined Piers Morgan in his New York studio. "He [Lien] hit Edwin who is now crushed under the SUV. He did that without any warning to Edwin. Edwin, by the way, was doing nothing wrong. We've spoken to many, many people who were there. He did nothing wrong. All he had done was get off his bike, go over and try to calm everybody down."
Admitting that she was not there when the incident occurred, Dayana Mejia acknowledged that the situation was likely scary for all parties involved:
"I can't blame anyone. I can understand why he [Lien] was scared, but at the end of the day my husband parked his vehicle on a kick-stand, to get off, to try to help the situation, tell everyone to move on, 'let's just go, let's get with it, let's ignore it."
