While most Americans would confess to not being particularly big fans of the government shutdown, the always outspoken Ann Coulter joined Piers Morgan Wednesday night, and during their live conversation the author went as far as to applaud the work of the individuals who effectively brought Washington to a screeching halt three weeks ago:
“I really like what these guys have been doing,” Coulter began.
Seemingly in shock, the "Piers Morgan Live" host asked Coulter whom specifically she was targeting with her praise:
“Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, the House Republicans. I think the last three weeks have been magnificent,” noted the 51-year-old Conservative political commentator, referring to the last 16 days during which hundreds of thousands of federal employees have been furloughed.
When Morgan tried to argue with his guest, pointing out numerous polls that have shown the average American feels otherwise towards the Republicans, Coulter countered:
“I’m so glad you mentioned that ... this has been driving me absolutely crazy," she said. "These two polls [Gallup, Wall Street Journal] are pure propaganda.”
