READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.
As part of a program largely dedicated to the status of the government shutdown and the approaching debt ceiling deadline, on Wednesday evening Piers Morgan welcomed Conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter to join him for a live, face to face interview.
During a conversation that took place a few hours after Congress voted to re-open the government, Coulter conveyed her belief that Republicans are not trying to seek power, while Democrats are:
“That is one thing as I point out in this book," said the woman behind "Never Trust a Liberal over Three – Especially a Republican." "Democrats have advantage. All they want is power. They spent their lives figuring out how to get elected so they can run other people's lives."
Astonished by her statement Morgan responded sarcastically:
“Republicans don't want power and don't want to tell us how to run our lives.”
After sixteen days of frustrating inactivity, the United States government is officially up and running again.
As the clock struck midnight on Thursday morning, Barack Obama signed a bill that will fund the government, and raise the debt ceiling through January 15th.
As part of a special live, midnight edition of his CNN program, Piers Morgan invited Ben Ferguson and Marc Lamont Hill to offer their assessments of Ted Cruz, the Republican Senator often credited with, and/or blamed for, spearheading the political effort that led to the shutdown.
However, before the talk turned to politics, Morgan had more pressing matters to tend to. Namely, the return of the famed "Panda Cam" at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
“There it is. It is sleeping. The panda will be asleep now, anyway. So, in the morning, that will come alive, and panda will be back and the world could breathe again,” quipped the host.
Ferguson, meanwhile, quickly turned back to Cruz, reminding viewers of the attention the 42-year-old brought to a pair of critical issues, Obamacare, and the fact that the White House believes someone should be held responsible for the technical difficulties associated with the plan's glitch-filled roll out.
“I think he is a brilliant guy that is going to end up being a hero, absolutely, coming out of this,” argued Ferguson, a CNN contributor and Conservative radio host.
Lamont Hill, meanwhile, disagreed entirely, saying Cruz and his party’s strategy was flawed from the outset:
“He is an absolute villain; even his own party is saying this was a silly strategy," said the HuffPost Live host. "That does not make you a hero, except to the extreme wing of your party who you already had the attention and admiration of.”
For the next edition of "Piers Morgan Live," watch CNN every night at 9.

Cruz is promoting his own political agenda....cares little for the American people. He thinks he's the sharpest knife in the drawer, but has very little common sense.
I saw your comment about Mr. Cruz and Sarah Palin quite by accident. I normally don't se anything from CNN, because I have absolutely no respect or patience for you or any of your lying colleagues at CNN..... I hope that Mr. Cruz or Mrs. Palin run for President. I can tell you this, anyone would be better than the Dum Ass that calls himself President now. I do know that anyone would be better than a lying, spending, murdering liberal. You're just a bunch of Gullible slow leaks.
Mr. Cruz was born in Calgary Alberta CANADA.... he is not eligible to run for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!!
I agree with Kathy – why is this CRUZ 2016 idea being flaunted around so openly without any word of this very important discrepancy. Cruz' natural-born status is definitely up for debate. Please remember very clearly – the Tea Party, Trump, etc were all claiming Obama was born on Kenyan soil (a fantasy) but regardless of his mother being a natural born US citizen, they claimed Obama was illegimate as a candidate (and still believe he is illegitimate as president in the present!). Obama was born in Hawaii, period. So here comes Cruz, born onto Canadian soil (100% fact, not even fantasy!)... how does it differ from the Tea Party / Trump claim against Obama of years ago? (aside from it being fact rather than fantasy) Where are the TP protests against CRUZ 2016 ?
Precisely right Kathy. Cruz is already a has been and will fade to obscurity just like Palin. Cruz is not the Republican saviour but it clearly shows how lost they are as a party. Just wait until Hillary announces she is running for President. The Republicans have already stated if she runs the election is over before it starts!
My son has a t-shirt that explains Ted Cruz and the rest of the TP (how appropriate that the abbreviation for Tea Party also works for Toilet Paper!). The t-shirt says, " I reject your reality and subsitute my own". In my opinion, Mr. Cruz has a Napoleon complex. He is a little person trying to be big. Not in stature, but in character! He is a small-minded, self absorbed, megalomaniac with an obsession to creatie a New America in the vision of his over-fertile imagination. I wonder if he's had a mental health evaluation lately?
Cruz is a selfish idiot with his own agenda. He a fascist puppet...
