"Piers Morgan Live, Rewind": Col. Chris Hadfield on "Space Oddity," John Tlumacki and Liz Walker on "Boston Strong," and Ann Coulter on Ted and Rafael Cruz

Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.

  • Chris Hadfield on his "Space Oddity"

On Thursday evening Piers Morgan invited Col. Chris Hadfield to the program, asking his live guest to discuss his recording of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” a version he performed while floating weightless in space that has since been viewed more than 18 million times on YouTube.

“It was my son who was really key in the social media handling of the flight - who said 'dad everybody wants you to record this,'” Hadfield noted.

“David Bowie called it the most poignant version of the song he had ever heard,” Morgan exclaimed.

Watch the clip to hear Hadfield's reaction to Bowie’s positive review.

  • "Boston Strong" – Rallying around the Red Sox

On April 15, two bomb blasts shook the city of Boston, in the process sending metaphorical shock waves across the entire country. Amidst the chaos and tragedy, the city rallied around its hometown heroes, the Boston Red Sox.

The phrase “Boston Strong” was born, and quickly became a rallying cry and motivator for the city and for their bearded Beantown brethren.

“A city that has gone through the very worst of the world and we have been strong and persevered,” said Rev. Liz Walker of Roxbury Presbyterian Church, who joined "Piers Morgan Live" Thursday night. “You can believe. You can have faith. You can keep persevering. You can rally against all odds.”

The ending of the game felt cinematic, said John Tlumacki, a Boston Globe photographer who captured both the horrific scene of the Boston Marathon bombing, and the subsequent exultation by the Boston Red Sox a half a year later.

“This cloud of smoke just descended onto the field and obscured everything,” said Tlumacki, of Wednesday's World Series victory. “As the smoke dissipated, all you saw was, in the grass, the carved Boston Strong that was carved into the grass.”

For Tlumacki, the last time he'd seen smoke like that was at the Boston Marathon finish line; this time, however, was a totally different end.

  • Ann Coulter on Sen. Ted Cruz's father's "Barack Obama back to Kenya" joke

On Thursday night Piers Morgan sat down with the always outspoken and controversial Ann Coulter, resulting in a conversation that ranged from Joe Biden to Halloween.

Among the other topics discussed was the recently revealed comment made by Senator Ted Cruz's father back in 2012, in which Pastor Rafael Cruz was caught on tape saying he wanted to send Barack Obama "back to Kenya."

Coulter found the elder Cruz's remarks to be harmless:

"It's clearly a joke. I give a lot of speeches, the Kenya references always kill."

This answer was not good enough for Morgan, who pushed back on his guest:

"You can see why somebody making a joke about sending a black man back to Africa can be taken as offensive, potentially?"

In defense, Coulter offer the following comparison:

"I would think it would be much more offensive for a President's father to have been a Nazi sympathizer," referring to the father of late president John F. Kennedy. "Why are the rules so different with the Democrats?"
