On the heels of Chris Cuomo's fascinating and polarizing interview with Dennis Rodman, on Tuesday evening "Piers Morgan Live" solicits reaction and analysis from John McCain.
In North Korea headlining a basketball game designed to help celebrate the birthday of Kim Jong-un, the former NBA star offered Cuomo a strange and combative rant when pressed about his intentions and the potential political and diplomatic ramifications of his visit.
When asked about the retired Hall of Famer directly, McCain admits to being less than impressed:
"I think he's an idiot," laughs the senior United States Senator from Arizona. "I think he's very - a person - of not great intellect, who doesn't understand that he really does provide propaganda for this very brutal, ruthless young man."
In viewing a clip of the morning's bizarre exchange between Cuomo and Rodman, during which the latter seemingly endorses North Korea's imprisonment of American Kenneth Bae, McCain notes that the situation becomes drastically less comical:
"In one respect, it's kind of a side show with a guy who's not too bright, that's looking for something to do. That kind of part of it can even amuse us," he tells Piers Morgan. "But when we're talking about an American that's being held prisoner in God knows what conditions, and he is basically defending it, that's pretty bad behavior."
