As scrutiny and speculation continue to surround Chris Christie's alleged role in "Bridgegate," on Monday evening Piers Morgan invited Michael Sokolich to share his assessment.
The mayor of Fort Lee – the town most impacted by the George Washington Bridge lane closures of September – Sokolich seemed reluctant to simply take New Jersey's top politician at his word:
"I think a sworn statement from the governor I think would be helpful," said Sokolich of Christie, who has repeatedly denied knowing of a plan to shut down lanes on the nation's busiest bridge. "I think that would start as a foundation to rebuild trust in New Jersey, just no spin doctor – absolute unconditional statement that he had no knowledge and I think folks would rely on that and I think in Fort Lee we would start to regain and rebuild that trust too."
