READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.
Accusations that Oscar-winning filmmaker and director Woody Allen sexually abused his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, when she was seven-years-old may be decades old, but the headlines surrounding this story have resurfaced this week with quite a bang. This is the result of an open letter to "The New York Times" from Farrow herself. The letter marks the first time that Dylan Farrow has spoken publicly about the alleged sexual abuse.
Allen first dealt with this scandal back in 1993, when the allegations were brought up after a custody battle of the adopted children of Allen and former girlfriend, actress Mia Farrow. Allen has continued to deny the claims over the years, stating that Mia Farrow brain-washed her daughter Dylan into believing it happened. The evidence was inconclusive on the sex abuse allegations, but Farrow won full custody of her children.
Monday night, "Piers Morgan Live" invited two very prominent guests with close ties to both Woody Allen and the case brought against him nearly 20 years ago.
Stacey Nelkin, a former girlfriend of Allen came to his defense on the show, asserting that the accusations are false and that they were concocted by Mia Farrow 20 years ago when she was outraged by Allen getting involved romantically with another one of her adopted children, Soon-Yi Previn. (He is now married to Previn.)
Morgan also invited high-profile attorney Alan Dershowitz to the program who came to Farrow’s defense and strongly opposed what Nelkin had to say. Having represented celebrities such as Claus Von Bulow, Mike Tyson, and Leona Helmsley; Dershowitz was legally involved in the custody battle between Allen and Farrow when he was asked by Mia Farrow to be a mediation role in the whole debacle.
“I have no reason to disbelieve [Farrow],” stated Dershowitz. "And by the way, what they told me 20 years ago is exactly what was written in the letter,” referring to Dylan Farrow’s letter to "The New York Times".
Dershowitz also visited the sight of the alleged crime scene during the legal battles and said it wasn't until state police began to dust for fingerprints in the room where the scene occurred that Allen stated he may have been in there after all.
When it came to what Nelkin had to say about the whole thing, Dershowitz described her defense of Allen as “outrageous” and went on to conclude, “she is just wrong”.
Dylan Farrow’s open letter to "The New York Times" reignited a twenty year-old media frenzy of child molestation charges, as the adopted daughter of actress Mia Farrow accused Hollywood director and writer Woody Allen of sexually assaulting her as a child and lamented what she claims is a lack of justice in the case.
Dylan Farrow was just seven-years-old when, during her adoptive parents’ tumultuous split, she said Allen had secretly sexually assaulted her throughout Mia Farrow and Allen’s relationship. Allen was never convicted.
On "Piers Morgan Live" Monday night, Vanity Fair contributing editor Michael Wolff stood behind his recent article in "The Guardian"; the article questions the validity of Dylan Farrow’s claims and suggests that Dylan Farrow’s statements against Allen may have been encouraged – or even coerced – by her mother, Mia Farrow.
While discussing the case with Morgan, Wolff suggested that in the midst of her breakup and Allen’s newly-public relationship with teenage adoptive daughter Soon-Yi Previn, Mia Farrow used Dylan Farrow’s sexual assault claims as ammunition against her estranged partner.
“She turned around and said, ‘So, he's involved with my 18-year-old daughter. Therefore, I can more credibly make the case that he might have been involved with my seven-year-old daughter.’ This is preposterous,” Wolff suggested to Morgan.
Allen has received notorious public attention for his long-term relationships with much younger-but-legal teenage girls. But Wolff rejected the suggestion of any link between Allen’s unconventional relationships and charges of child molestation.
While debating hot button topic, Wolff said of Morgan, “You just connected the fact that the man had perfectly legal relationships with the fact that he’s charged with molesting a seven-year-old.”
The twenty-year-old sexual molestation charge brought by Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter Dylan Farrow against Hollywood writer and director Woody Allen is anything but a “cold case.” The story has recently heated up controversy and wrought a staunchly divided social media; some claim Allen’s Hollywood stardom has sheltered him from due-justice, while others insist Dylan Farrow’s resurgence of molestation accusations is a publicity stunt.
Lisa Bloom – legal analyst and author of Avvo.com – fervently disagrees with the latter outlook.
“[Dylan Farrow] has everything to lose and nothing to gain by coming forward now,” Bloom said on "Piers Morgan Live" Monday night.
Bloom also denounced Allen’s behavior during the initial 1992 proceedings, describing Allen’s comments about his controversial relationship with Mia Farrow’s adoptive daughter Soon-Yi Previn as “almost sociopathic.”
“He said he had done nothing immoral,” Bloom told Morgan. “That it was not important. The fact that Soon-Yi was his long term girlfriend's daughter was unimportant. You know, just really not understanding the pain that he had caused to this family. And that indicates to me a real lack of understanding.”

I wonder what Dershowitz' et ux conclusion would have been if it had been Woody who called first. The Der would not stand still for a conviction in a court of law based solely on the opinions of a self-promoting lawyer/author and his psychoanalyst wife.
I wondered why Piers Morgan did not ask Alan Dershowitz if Ms. Nelkin's statement was true - that people in Mia Farrow's camp reached out to Ms. Nelkin in the effort to get Ms. Nelkin to say she was 15 when involved with Woody Allen. I also wondered why, if guests were attempting to portray Woody Allen as someone interested in young girls, why no one pointed out his long term relationships with Louise Lasser, Diane Keaton, etc. Finally, I wondered if Mia accepted money for child support from Woody Allen. If you despise someone to the point Mia Farrow despises Woody Allen, why accept (and fight for) his money?
It was in the article that he commented:
When it came to what Nelkin had to say about the whole thing, Dershowitz described her defense of Allen as “outrageous” and went on to conclude, “she is just wrong”.
Will Morgan now give equal time to Moses Farrow as he sides with Woody Allen ?
I have often wondered the same thing, however, maybe Moses doesn't want to talk in public about this? I am sure that he would have plenty of opportunities if he wanted interviews, but it seems that perhaps he doesn't'. (While at the same time wishing to support Woody).
I don't know lie from truth and I have no opinion, good or bad, about Woody Allen or Mia Farrow. I do have an observation, though. The fact that a mom, who decided it was completed appropriate to discuss lurid details of her personal life in both tabloid and screen, has seen fit to teach her kids to do, likewise...that's perverse and sick, in and of, itself, imo. Monkey see, monkey do. Mia Farrow has some serious screws loose to allow these puss-filled wounds to fester and flourish in her family for 20 years!
Alan, Alan, Alan – One minute you're mediating Middle East peace...The next you're on Morgan comforting Farrow. No one knows what happened. For you, it's a loser.
