David Arquette on ex-wife Courteney Cox: "Having Courteney in my life's been one of the great joys and friendships and loves"

His was the lovable role who fawned over – and ultimately found love with – Courteney Cox's character in the "Scream" movie franchise. In real life, David Arquette's relationship with the former "Friends" star didn't finish with quite the same heartwarming flourish. Nonetheless, the man who portrayed Dewey Riley in four films has no regrets:

"No, I wouldn't change anything about that," says Arquette, of his 12 year marriage to Cox. "Having Courteney in my life's been one of the great joys and friendships and loves."

Within Hollywood circles, where divorces are volatile, vengeful, and personal, Arquette and Cox managed to keep their separation civil, particularly by celebrity standards:

"The way we did it was not to forget the love that we shared for each other, not to try to destroy each other in the process," Arquette explains to Piers Morgan in Monday's primetime interview. "To understand each others position, and then, allow each others needs to be met, at the same time, being generous and conscious."

This is a personal message for Piers Morgan.

Mr. Morgan, your programme, your interviewing style and skills, your intelligence and your extraordinary personality have always impressed me. I am absolutely shocked by the decision that CNN has made. What a loss for CNN.

I'm sure that Piers Morgan is a good person, however, I never felt he was the right fit for CNN. I stopped watching him because I found that he was delivering polemics, instead of engaging his guests (and viewers) in well-rounded and thought-provoking conversations. His style and tendentious opinions would be better suited to MSNBC – where things are slanted to the far left and opposing views are drowned out. If his views slanted to the right, then FOX would be the better choice. MSNBC=FOX... they are the mirror images of each other.
