Piers Morgan, Maria Menounos and the most famous pizza guy in the world

Edgar Martirosyan assumed he was simply going to deliver a few pizzas. Not unlike the pies he's passed out seemingly 100 times before. He'd ring the bell, accept payment and quickly head out for the next order.

But this wasn't any ordinary order. And it was to be no ordinary delivery. Instead of dropping by a typical Los Angeles home or business, Martirosyan's stop on Sunday was at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood, and it was Ellen DeGeneres with the rumbling tummy.

It didn't matter that the 56-year-old comedian and television icon was in the middle of hosting the 86th edition of The Oscars. She was craving a couple of large pies and Martirosyan was making the delivery.

"I was shocked and I came out with the pizzas, they told me, wait, the pizzas are for writers," Martirosyan explained to Piers Morgan and Maria Menounos Monday evening. "I was waiting, and then Ellen came out and told me, 'I'm going to tell you to follow me.'"

The co-owner of Big Mama’s & Papa’s pizzeria, Martirosyan soon found himself on stage at the Oscars, with millions of people watching, and a handful of elite customers ready to dig in.

"[You were] about to feed Brad Pitt," laughed Menounos.

Asked how he was feeling, or what he was thinking at the time, Monday's guest called upon a theme that has been one of the host's personal favorites.

"I'm thinking that's when you say the American dream, this is the real American dream," he revealed. "I was just shocked. It was really a great moment for me."

Of all the film stars and icons in the crowd Sunday, it was Julia Roberts that Martirosyan was most excited to see. However, soon thereafter, he was the popular one.

"Everybody, everybody, from Russia, from Armenia, from my friends here, family, everybody," he said, when asked to list those that nearly instantaneously rung his mobile phone off it's non-existent, yet proverbial, hook.

For more of Morgan's conversation with Martirosyan, and to see the two of them eat pizza alongside Menounos, watch the above clip. For your next serving of "Piers Morgan Live," place your order at CNN on 9p.
