Barbara Starr with new information on missing Flight 370: "There is a strong likelihood that the flight is at the bottom of the Indian Ocean"
As the mystery surrounding missing Flight 370 approaches the one week mark, and with new theories and fresh information seemingly on the hour, Thursday evening saw "Piers Morgan Live" welcome a wide-ranging collection of guests, each tasked with offering their own brand of insight and perspective.
Just moments into the one-hour primetime program, Piers Morgan welcomed his first interview subject – Barbara Starr – who joined the program live from Washington with fresh information.
"There is a strong likelihood that the flight is at the bottom of the Indian Ocean," said CNN's Pentagon corespondent, sourcing the information to "a Senior U.S. official."
According to Starr, during the course of the last day the Malaysians have released information containing "key data" that puts the missing aircraft over the Indian Ocean, between four and five hours off course. In evaluating satellite information, and specific audio frequencies, the United States has formed their current working theory.
"These pings match the air frame, the type of engines that was on this flight, and there is no correlating transponder information," Starr explained. "As we know now, the transponder for some reason turned off, was turned off, stopped working. So they have a flight out over the Indian Ocean, correlates to this exact type of airplane, with no transponder. They believe that's where the flight has come to rest."
While additional contradictory theories suggest the plane may have been hijacked, and even landed, Starr allowed that at present there are far more questions than answers.
"Was it a deliberate act? Was it sabotage? Was it espionage," she rattled off rhetorically. "Nobody at the moment really knows the answer to that. Because they have no definitive intelligence or information that leads them to believe it was an act of terrorism, sabotage, a deliberate act, pilot suicide, any of these theories we've all heard for the last several days. What they do have is data, information now, technical, highly technical data, that tells them the likely path of the plane."
According to the Emmy Award winner with a quarter century's worth of experience covering issues of defense and security, for the time being the actual evidence trumps any theorizing or speculation.
"There is also a very key radar blip, if you will, from the Malaysians that show the plane turning around. Instead of heading to China, it's heading off the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. That was one of their first indications," she noted. "Now they have the correlating other satellite data. So they're beginning to put the clues together, beginning to put the pieces together. All of this leaving them now to turn their attention to the Indian Ocean."

I'm just wondering if the pings were received by more than one location and whether signal strengths and corresponding times were included in the ping data. If they were, then this would be sufficient to establish a trajectory.
Why aren't Aircrafts equipped with some sort of emergency floating device(s) due to radar limitations over water?
Though it's never been mentioned on the news yet, it seems plausible the cabin could have slowly depressurized at high elevation. All of the passengers would have essentially gone to sleep/unconsciousness thus explaining the lack of communication from passengers. This has happened on small aircraft in the past and the plane has continued to fly until it eventually crashes. Why couldn't it happen on this flight?

Agree. It could be sabotage in air that passenger sitting at emergency exit might have opened the emergency door (or both side doors at same time). This will lead to creating vacuum in whole plane and even difficult to send out any distress signal..
Plausible but that doesn't explaine why the plane went off course.
Dear Mr. Morgan,
Today on a recorded TV interview, the wife of a passenger who left for a trip onboard the missing 777 did quite an odd thing with his goodbye to her. He gave her his wedding band and another item to give to their children should anything terminal happen to him. That sounds so suspect in her recounting this on national TV. Surely someone is investigating who he is and what possible criminal history he has. That is a real coincidence that someone did this and is now missing.

It appears uncontrolled decompression was the cause for the MH370 accident. Such fatality has occurred before with crew members and passengers all dead while the airplane continued flying until the fuel was exhausted. If memory serves me right this has happened in the U. S. with the airplane of a famous golfer.
b4 i waste toughts what could be happened, i wait for verified datas and informations. So i hpe that the infos abt SAT pings now will be real and that decrypted datas will give the verified location infos. i can't judge is it only journalism overzealousness or simple incompetence at some officials, that almost hourly coming up news and minutes later they will be doubt or otherones take it fully back.

And "IF" either or both Countries know, then it would follow suit that disclosing factual information could/would jeopardize the resolutions which either would be trying to facilitate. Keeping those that were on board alive while ensuring that the aircraft is not used in the future to inflict misery and destruction upon man kind would seem to be of the most paramount importance.
The US Military/Intelligence (IMO) are way smarter than than the rest; they will know the right way to resolve this if indeed they do have the "ball" in their playing field.

I don't know why everyone is being so timid to admit what could have been done with this plane, Someone obviously altered the transponders and switched the course. They obviously had a destination in mind. The news is not being accurate as to the amount of fuel the jet held. Figuring out how far the jet could have gone is as easy as pulling out an atlas and a ruler. Use the ruler to measure the distance from the airport in Malaysia to Bejing, and mark the length on the ruler. Now, rotate the ruler, using Malaysia as the rotating point. That is AT LEAST the amount of fuel that was supplied. This plane could have easily made it to Pakistan. Knowing that jets are fueled with extra amounts, the jet most likely could have made it to Iran. The stolen passport passengers are from Iran. They could have landed and hid the jet somewhere before we even started looking for it. It could very well be used as a missile loaded with explosives and make itanywhere in the world now. Also, how much fuel WAS in the jet? If it was filled to maximum capacity, that jet could have made it anywhere in the world. Not fun to think about, but we need to consider this. I wish the reporters and people being interviewed would be upfront about this.
Interestingly, in May of 1962 two Officers on the British Vessel, S.S. Telemachus filed a report concerning unidentified and inexplicable rotating rays of light moving through the water around and beneath their ship at virtually the same coordinates (lat 7.22 N, long 103.18 E) that the missing Malaysian Flt. 370 transponder stopped working (lat 7.37 N, long 103.30 E). Could there be an undiscovered natural or perhaps unnatural energy source beneath the Gulf of Thailand waters that may have shorted out all the on-board instruments and transponder of Flt. 370 and sent it off-course, leaving the Pilots with no navigational or communication tools, flying aimlessly for hours, running out of fuel and crashing into the Indian Ocean? What are the odds of almost the exact coordinates being a factor in both of these cases?

You're concluding this was a nuclear sub simply because it was May 1962 and implying secret Cold War sub technology perhaps? Not likely. It is a USO by definition as the actual witnesses could not identify what was in the water. These were seafaring men who would know a sub if they spotted one. Read the report detailing what they observed and the characteristics of the light. Not a sub. This USO event occurred at almost the precise coordinates that this plane's transponders went off. Coincidence? Maybe. There are also many more USO and UFO reports in that general area of the sea.
As the facts unfold, if this is not a terror attack, nor a case of suicidal pilot(s), nor human error, and is attributed to an inexplicable failure of the planes instruments at that point on the globe, it is worth exploring what lies beneath the waters off Thailand. At the very least it is a noteworthy coincidence at this point in a historic aviation mystery.
As long as aliens aren't involved in any theories... that's when it gets a little ridiculous to say the least. And there's been a fair amount of that surrounding all this by wishful thinkers.

I am sure that people on board the Malaysian flight 370 had cell phones. I remember from 911 people in the planes called their loved ones telling them what's going on? Has anyone thought of checking cell phones where people could have possibly called theirs. I know being over the ocean you loose cell phone connection. It also seems to me a cell phone company could get service through satellite somehow in the Indian Ocean so they could try to pick up any calls and msgs.
That's not how cell phone works. A cell needs to be quite close to a cell tower to work. Even in rural parts of the US there is no coverage *on land*. Now imagine at 35k feet over an ocean. Everyone saying "they do this and track that all the time!!!" needs to understand there's a difference between on land in a major metro area and out over open water 6miles up. Technology isn't magic.

No other countries show plane on radar and scramble to intercept?( Or are they closed at night like Switzerland ? ) why China offering decoys? someone went to a lot of trouble to understand this plane and routes and radar wouldn't think just to commit suicide or crash intentionally.
I would say a more as a more accurate theory is :
China shot it down after finding out, it was being held hostage by the same people in That Knife Train station attacker group.Having a political nightmare on there hands & with this group in charge of the headlines it was easier to shoot down than for this to be the spark that started china's uprising . China airspace must have said to pilot to switch off your tracking and head over India sea, so indian does not find out, we will send the stealth jets to help ... I did a horary chart: Uranus represents airplane is in the 10th house indicating SOUTH. Very strong air an water signs! Plane was in the AIR, now in deep WATER (ocean). Planets in connection to the plane are detrimental! Saturn Pluto in mutual reception!! Long story short: The plane is in deep water southern ocean. Neptune in this chart is causing lots of confusion one after the other. Moon in fixed sign will take a long time to find the plane.
If I can make sense of those reports, the plane almost certainly traveled far into the Indian Ocean. It just cannot have flied into Asia undetected.
That being the case, the plane will never, ever be found. It took years to find the fuselage of the Air France Flight, and the possible area was just a fraction of the region where MH 370 went.
If the plane did not crash, then someone now has a long-range bomber that could easily be made capable of striking anywhere in the world. Now all they need is a bomb.
