Flight 370 puts Israel on high alert: "Israel has close to zero margin for error in countering and protecting itself against a hijacked airplane"

A dozen days into the investigation surrounding missing Flight 370, there are far more questions than there are answers.

However, among the possible theories exists the notion that the aircraft may have been hijacked, with a plan to be used in a terrorist attack.

Among the many nations that could be potential targets within such a scheme, it is perhaps Israel that finds itself most vulnerable, thanks in part to its size and location.

"Israel's a tiny country. It's situated along the coast. A jet that's been hijacked flying at 600 miles an hour will take about a minute and half to cross the entire country of Israel. It's where Israel's most populated cities are right along that coast. So Israel has close to zero margin for error in countering and protecting itself against a hijacked airplane," explained Michael Oren, a former Israeli ambassador to the United States. "If this Malaysian jet has been hijacked, and there's a sense among Israeli intelligence officials that that is a possibility, then Israel feels that it has to take the necessary precautions. The government met with security officials this week and decided on a number of emergency measures."

Joining "Piers Morgan Live" guest host Bill Weir for a primetime interview, CNN's Mideast Analyst noted that due to its precarious position, Israel is forced to defend itself extremely aggressively, going on the offensive at least once before:

"We have one precedent. It occurred 41 years ago in February 1973, when a Libyan aircraft bound for Cairo strayed into Israeli controlled air space. Israeli jets intercepted that Libyan airliner, instructed it to land. When it ignored the Israeli instructions that airliner was shot down. All but five of the 114 people aboard died," he explained. "Israel paid compensation to the families. But that is the precedent. Israel again has no margin for error for planes, align planes, unidentified planes, and possibly hostile planes, that are entering its air space."

You have experts for every scenario except for cell phones. Why are the news media not proving or disproving the theory that cell phones do not work in the search areas? Can we not use gps apps to locate cell phones?

Is it possible to put a blackbox and tracking device on a drone in order to divert attention from where the plane actually went? Also Piers is my favorite show to watch.

Israel is the one that STOLE the damned plane! They aren't afraid, lmao. They are biding their time creating a narrative to spring on us. Watch as they begin telling us they have information that Iran is behind it, or Hezbollah. And of course, Al Qaeda will be brought into it (don't forget that the spokesman for Al Qaeda is Azzam the American, born Adam Yahiye Gadahn, grandson of a radical zionist agent. Also keep in mind that the very first act of air PIRACY was committed by the Israeli Air Force in 1954.

Yesterday we heard that there were at least 3 programed flights on pilot Hishammuddin Hussains simlator that landed in the Indian ocean including a US territory. Now they are saying that the data was deleted February 3. Can both be true or was yesterday's new reports changed again.

How callous can you be to be airing a woman ON A PLANE with a stuffy nose, when CNN has been reporting a missing plane with 329 souls onboard?

Are you absolute idiots? Get that Nyquil commercial off the air for gods sake.

I think the plane went North. I have worked sophisticated Hewlett Packard detection equipment–not satellite related–but intricate nonetheless. You can make equipment 'say' anything you want said. There's no U.S. aircraft carrier down by Perth because THEY KNOW the plane didn't go that way......

Continuing along the lines of the idea the plane mirrowed below, above or behind another plane in hidding – is it possible that the black boxes were carried on a drone to the indian ocean as a diversion? Could it be that the only thing that will be found on the ocean floor are the boxes and not a plane? Please comment.
