READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Hot off the digital press, Piers Morgan's most-recent "Daily Mail" diary is out.
Entitled "Melanie Griffith stroked the car... I'd dreamed of this – only with the car and my roles reversed," Morgan uses a portion of the U.K. publication to detail a few celebrity sightings, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Justin Bartha of the "The Hangover" and "The Hangover Part II" fame.
Also earning ink in the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host's journal is the passing of Dick Clark. As part of the April 18th tribute to the music and television icon, a familiar face returned to the 9 p.m. time slot: FULL POST
The latest edition of Piers Morgan's weekly diary as published in the U.K.'s "Daily Mail" is out.
Titled "Bill Roache said he's slept with many more than 100 women. He's the Bill Wyman of TV," the CNN host reveals himself as a fashion trendsetter and budding film star.
Referencing a recent magazine article, the host of "Piers Morgan Tonight" admits that while he's surprised to find himself mentioned amongst England's best-dressed, he isn't exactly complaining:
"Ozwald Boateng, arguably the coolest designer in Britain, today named his Top Ten great British male style icons in this very magazine – and to general astonishment, not least to myself, he included me at number ten. It’s not often I’ve seen myself in the same list as David Bowie, Michael Fassbender, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sir Winston Churchill and Tinie Tempah. Ozwald’s explanatory citation read: ‘Since moving to CNN, Piers’ sense of style has evolved dramatically...He’s now one of the best-dressed men on TV...Piers seems to make the right decisions every time. He knows instinctively what looks good on him. With or without a tie, his suits give him this quiet authority that sits well with him as a host.’ I have absolutely nothing I wish to add to this. I just wanted to repeat it, in full, in case you missed it the first time."
The latest edition of Piers Morgan's weekly diary as published in the U.K.'s "Daily Mail" is out. Titled "When it comes to narcissism," tweeted Gary Lineker, "you sir are in a league of your own," Morgan begins by addressing his late-night look-alike, Taran Killam:
"The most popular comedy show in American history is 'Saturday Night Live' – which airs, as you might expect, live every Saturday night. All the big comics clamour to be on it, and then ridicule people in the news. To my delight, yet also mild consternation, I was the subject of a six-minute ‘tribute’ this week, in which one of their regular team dressed up like me, in a set done up exactly like my studio, and interviewed stars like Madonna and rapper Nicki Minaj. They say that good impressionists always capture a celebrity’s mannerisms perfectly, even if the voice isn’t spot on. So I watched keenly as the fake Piers asked Madonna in a rapid-fire high-pitched staccato: ‘Who, what, where, when, why..?’ Then prefaced another question with a squealing, ‘Wit… wit… wit… wit…wit… wit…’ ‘How absurd,’ I laughed to my staff this morning. ‘Sounded nothing like me.’ There was a long, uncomfortable silence, eventually broken by a thoroughly disloyal cacophony of giggles."
The latest edition of Piers Morgan's weekly diary as published in the U.K.'s "Daily Mail" is out. Titled "It was 2am when Simon Cowell called in to my show. He was choking up: 'Whitney Houston was one of the greatest'," Morgan takes us through the course of events that transpired on the evening Whitney Houston died:
The one sure-fire way you know when a big story breaks in Los Angeles is by the sound of helicopters buzzing around the skies. I was driving through Beverly Hills late in the afternoon when I looked up to see three choppers circling the Beverly Hilton Hotel, venue for Clive Davis’s big party. It was too early for the red carpet to have started, so something big must have happened. Then the first text message arrived: ‘Whitney Houston’s dead.’ Wow. I raced straight to the CNN bureau in West Hollywood, to co-anchor what turned out to be four hours of rolling news coverage of this shocking event.
The latest edition of Piers Morgan's weekly diary as published in the U.K.'s "Daily Mail" is out. Titled "I'd finally found common ground with Madonna. Neither of us has sung live at the Super Bowl," Morgan immediately takes aim at his favorite adversary and her recent half time performance from the Super Bowl:
"...it was every bit as embarrassing, inappropriate and toe-curling as I expected, as she lip-synched and crotch-thrusted her way through a medley of her old hits and some gruesome new song that sounded like something you’d hear in a cheap Belgian disco. Twitter exploded with 8,000 tweets a SECOND commenting on her performance – most of them from me."
Piers Morgan's column in the Daily Mail this weekend touched on his recent Twitter milestone – passing one million followers. "Every celebrity will tell you they couldn’t care less how many Twitter followers they have, yet curiously they all know exactly how many they have at any given moment. It’s become the ultimate willy-waving contest for egocentric stars, whether they admit it or not," he writes. "The greatest asset of Twitter is that it’s such a brilliant source of news and information. If anything happens in the world, I read it first on my Twitter news feed, often from a CNN tweet – proving that even the world’s most famous ‘breaking news’ TV network recognises the power, urgency, popularity and relevance of the site. And if I want the answer to any question, I just ask my million followers."

For Piers Morgan's Daily Mail column this week he detailed both his exclusive interview with Hugh Hefner after his breakup and interviewing his "all-time acting hero" Morgan Freeman.
Piers writes in the column that after the interview Hefner "left by clambering into a brand new Bentley with the numberplate HEF 1 – clutching a new Playmate on each arm, and sporting a massively smug grin."
In the column Piers also detailed the sound of Freeman's voice:

Piers Morgan's column for The Daily Mail this week detailed both his first meeting with an initially cautious Will Smith and the fallout from his shocking interview with Ryan O'Neal. When Piers had Jada Pinkett Smith as a guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight," her husband came along. Will said he wasn't sure about Piers, but "You know how you got me? It’s the way you say, “Blimey..."
Later, Will asked if Piers had any talent, which led to a piano-playing moment. "By chance, Barry Manilow’s piano was still in the studio. I sat down and began playing Let It Be, an old party piece I’ve played in numerous late-night bars from Dublin to Rio," wrote Piers. "Jerry Springer is a man of many talents," Piers Morgan wrote in his weekly Daily Mail column. Springer claims he can name every American president in 60 seconds so Piers decided to test it on the live show June 1. Here is how Piers described the test:
I waited until there were exactly 60 seconds left of my live show to let him start. Then off Jerry went, rampaging furiously through the list like a man possessed.
He hesitated twice, though, and it cost him dear as the clock ticked on.
‘Roosevelt…’
‘Hurry, Jerry – nearly out of time…’
‘Truman…’
‘Got to go…’
‘No, no… Eisenhower… Kennedy… Johnson…’
BANG.
The screen cut to Anderson Cooper, host of the show that follows mine.
‘That’s it – too late!’ I cried.
Not only did Piers write about his interview with Jerry Springer but he also talked about how the announcement of his wife's pregnancy stirred a discussion on the spelling of Gadhafi... FULL POST
"I’ve now met all the most famous supermodels – Cindy, Naomi, Kate (Moss), Claudia (Schiffer) and Linda (Evangelista)" Piers Morgan wrote in his weekly Daily Mail column. Cindy Crawford told Piers in an interview for GQ that she thought Christy Turlington was the greatest supermodel of them all. He wrote about the moment he met Turlington:
She sat opposite me in my New York CNN studio this afternoon with almost flawless radiant skin (a few telltale laughter lines prove the lack of a surgeon’s aid), piercing green eyes and those immortal cheekbones still as naturally sculpted as ever. She was funny, intelligent, warm and interesting. And when she left, Christy glided her 5ft 10in frame out of the door with the effortless ease of a gazelle strolling across a prairie...I can see why Cindy says Christy’s No 1. She was as close to female physical perfection as you can get.
Not only did Piers talk about his interview with Christy Turlington (set to air at a later date) but he also talked about Gerry and Kate McCann, the parents of missing Madeleine McCann, in his weekly Daily Mail column... FULL POST
