An inside look at the life of Piers Morgan – from his wife

Celia Walden, Piers Morgan's wife, writes about the show, New York and the non-stop schedule of the past couple weeks in a first hand account headlined "It's show time for my Piers".

"It was obvious from the moment I walked into the hotel lobby that this week – the week of the launch – was going to be weird, fascinating, and from my close yet curiously detached viewpoint, pretty funny," she writes. Here's why: FULL POST

Now that the news is out about the first guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" (and the news about the rest of the first week will come Monday), let's talk about it. Piers In The Press: All those promos, a name you should know, food and whine

• "Entertainment Tonight" interviewed Piers Morgan about the new show, and the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host said he's "cautiously optimistic" about making it a success. And if you've turned on CNN (or TBS or TNT or...) recently, you've probably seen a promo or two for the show. Says Piers: "Even I'm fed up with the promos, saying how good my interview is going to be. It's about time I start to prove it." (He starts to prove it January 17.)

• Piers isn't just one of the 10 British stars to watch in 2011 (according to the BBC), he's also one of the 100 things to watch in 2011. FULL POST

Piers In The Press: Christmas Tweeting, Jack Bauer, Most Annoying...

A round-up of what people are saying about Piers Morgan this week:

• With his Twitter addiction in full swing, the press finds new material to write about just from following the wild ride. Like, for example, on Christmas. The Daily Mail highlighted Piers as one of the "vain, vacuous celebs [who] couldn't stop Twittering" on Christmas Day. The tweet? "A very happy Christmas to all my followers, even those who can’t stand the sight of me but just can’t stop themselves . . ." [Related: More Twitter talk]

Piers In The Press: PBS, New York Times, Perez Hilton...

A round-up of what people are saying about Piers Morgan this week:

Kiran Moodley of "PBS NewsHour" writes about the "New King on the Block" and his history as a newspaper editor in England. "His reign was marked by a determination to scoop every story. Former Daily Mirror Managing Director Charles Wilson wrote that, 'If you threw him into a haystack he would come out clutching not a needle, but a news story.'" Brian Stelter of the New York Times told Moodley, "Morgan is going to make some noise, get into fights with celebrities, pester people on Twitter, and use some old English tabloid tricks." FULL POST

Piers In The Press: Madonna, Cheryl Cole, Lord Sugar...

A round-up of what people are saying about Piers Morgan this week:

• You probably won't find Madonna on the first night of Piers Morgan Tonight. Papers in the U.K. picked up on Piers' comments regarding the singer at his London launch party. "She is so boring," he said. "She is too vegan for TV."

• Piers has become addicted to Twitter, and one of his targets of ridicule is Lord Sugar (the British "Apprentice"), Digital Spy wrote about a recent exchange. It should be noted the duo are competing for followers, in a bet that ultimately goes to charity. FULL POST
