Tonight: Donny Deutsch – and a live audience – get Guest Host Week back on track
Thanks to the arrival of Prince George Alexander Louis, the initial lineup for “Guest Host Week” has been temporarily modified.
But this evening at 9, television personality and "Today" show contributor Donny Deutsch gets us back on track, with help from a collection of fascinating guests, and the presence of a live audience.
Tonight marks Deutsch’s fifth time filling in for host Piers Morgan, and he promises to be more provocative than ever (which is certainly no small feat).

This evening on "Piers Morgan Tonight," Dr. Mehmet Oz fills in for Piers Morgan as guest host, anchoring a special discussion on health in America.
Welcoming three all-star guests in the form of Madeleine Stowe, Lisa Loeb and Cyndi Lauper, Oz uses his platform to address issues of aging, reflection, and life cycle.
Speaking to the man who's an actual physician (even though he also plays one on TV,) Loeb reveals that even though many considered it risky, the experience of becoming a new mom again – at the age of 44 – was “pretty amazing.”
"People always ask me about my age and having kids at such a risky age. It’s funny,” said the author and musician, already mom of a 3-year-old daughter, Lyla Rose. “I was trying to get to the perfect place in my life when I had a partner, who's actually my husband, and was ready to have kids and I happened to be in my 40s.” FULL POST

Coming up this evening at 9, the "Piers Morgan Tonight" studio takes on a decidedly clinical feel, as television's Dr. Oz trades his stethoscope for a microphone, filling in as guest host.
Anchoring a show dedicated to health and aging, the man born Mehmet Cengiz Oz will welcome a trio of sensational women.
Staring her sixtieth birthday in the face, Cyndi Lauper is the eldest of tonight's guest, and nearly three decades remove from her Grammy-nominated single, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."
Seated across from Oz, Lauper reflected on the song that became an anthem for young ladies everywhere:
"I'm very proud. I'm proud to be part of it. I'm proud for all the things that I fought for, to have all different races of women with me," says the woman that VH1 ranked No. 58 of the 100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll. "So that every little girl, no matter who she was or what color she was, would look in at that screen and realize that she, too, was entitled to have fun, because a joyful existence is in - everyone is entitled, not just some."

Clips From Last Night: Not so smooth sailing for one Carnival Triumph passenger while another shares her evacuation story
On Friday evening at 9, Ashleigh Banfield guest hosted "Piers Morgan Tonight: Triumph and Tragedy." The first half of the one hour special focused on stories from the passengers of the crippled Carnival Triumph cruise ship. On the third day of a four day cruise flames erupted in the engine room of the Triumph, sending the ship adrift for day in the Gulf of Mexico.
Once the Triumph docked in Mobile, Ala. Thursday, passengers were transported by charter bus and plane to their original destination of Galveston, Texas.
Unfortunately for some of the passengers, including Jacob Combs, their journey from Mobile to Galveston was hardly "smooth sailing." Introduced as one of "unluckiest travelers you'll ever meet," by Banfield, Combs' charter bus from Mobile to New Orleans broke down and his charter plane to Galveston was delayed for over an hour due to an electrical problem.
"You know, it started out nice, sun shiny, thought it was going to work out well, but you know, with all of the problems that come with the ship, to add the plane problems and the bus problems with it, too, seems pretty par for the course this week," said Combs.
Thankfully, Combs maintained a great sense of humor about his ordeal saying, "But you have to sometime, you've got to laugh about it when those things come up."
Also on the program, fellow Carnival Triumph passenger Rachel Alderete spoke with Banfield about her medical emergency and her harrowing experience evacuating the ship days before it reached the shore.
"I need a kidney, so I needed to do dialysis," explained Alderete. "I was supposed to be here on Monday. And then Tuesday go to a dialysis, when I was supposed to go. But that's when, you know, the boat got caught on fire on Sunday." FULL POST
Triumph passenger on life aboard the ship: "After a point, you just relax ... what can you do? You're essentially trapped"
On the heels of a hellacious cruise that featured a lack of electricity, and an overflowing amount of sewage, this evening at 9 "Piers Morgan Tonight" speaks with four women who signed up for the trip with the most admirable of intentions: to celebrate a 40th birthday.
Joining guest host Ashleigh Banfield tonight, Kerry Padilla details the moment things took a turn for the worst, and how their perspective changed as the situation developed:
"In the beginning, we thought it was very scary, and then, I would say, within, I don't know, half-hour, an hour, we realized that our lives weren't in immediate danger anymore," explains the birthday girl. "It was just going to be a matter of figuring out what we were going to do next."
Describing the frustration that crept in as the hours crawled along, Julie Morgan says she wishes the crew had been more forthcoming:
"I think the lack of information, initially, they just kept saying, 'It's a little fire, we don't know, we don't know.' So after a point, you just relax, because you don't know anything. What can you do? You're essentially trapped, and you can't change your mind and get off. So you just had to go with the flow."

As new details emerge in the case surrounding Oscar Pistorius and the shooting death of his girlfriend, South African model Reeva Steenkamp, this evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" revisits a 2012 interview the host conducted with the man dubbed "Blade Runner."
Months prior to being wrapped up in a scandal that has left the Olympian charged with murder, Pistorius sat down with Piers Morgan in studio for an honest and engaging interview.
Having gained worldwide attention as the first Paralympian to compete in the able-bodied Olympics, the man who had both his legs amputated below the knees as a toddler shared his thoughts on being viewed as a role model:
"I think it's a massive blessing," he said. "And, obviously, being an international sportsman, there's a lot of responsibility that comes with that."

As the epic adventure that was the Carnival Triumph finally came to a conclusion late last night, early this morning Erin Burnett guest hosted a special live midnight edition of "Piers Morgan Tonight," fielding phone calls and greeting relieved passengers while on the ground in Mobile, Ala.
Joined by colleague Martin Savidge, the regular host of "Erin Burnett OutFront" welcomed friends Brett Klausman and Joe Perkin, pals from Kansas and Missouri who had ventured on a voyage without their wives, a fourth such excursion in as many years:
"There will be a fifth, though. We will go back." said Klausman.
"As long as our wives allow us," chimed in Perkin.
Sporting a newly acquired, all-terrycloth ensemble, admitted he'd picked up a certain souvenir for his troubles.
"Sorry, Carnival – for taking your bathrobe," laughed Klausman. "I did not pay for this, but I figured they owed me a bathrobe."
Someone inside the cruise line's public relations or social media department was apparently watching the live CNN broadcast, and used Twitter to run some damage control:

Ripping off good-natured one-liners while sharing stories of inter-cabin camaraderie, the men from the Midwest exited their interview, with Klausman still wearing his robe:
"I'm definitely keeping it as a souvenir," he said, smiling.
"Don't worry, we won't tell," promised Savidge, while reporting for a network that is watched worldwide.
Hours earlier, as the dramatic arrival of the Carnival Triumph cruise ship unfolded live during the 9 p.m. hour, guest host Donny Deutsch hunkered down from home base, anchoring "Piers Morgan Tonight" from New York.
Tasked with keeping the viewers informed of the latest, while also placing the entire ordeal into perspective, Deutsch welcomed his "All-Star panel" of experts and analysts, who all provided their unique insight into the hellacious voyage.
Noting how tales like these do tend to become inflated over time, the television personality painted a picture of what's to come over the next half-decade:
