Richard Sherman's brother on growing up in Compton: "It was tough, it will be tough for the average kid ... we were able to make it out"

Roughly one week removed from an equal parts entertaining and polarizing post-game interview, and with the countdown to Super Bowl XLVIII have sunk inside of seven days, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman continues to be one of the game's most-significant stars and subplots.

On Monday evening, Piers Morgan asked the player's brother – Branton Sherman – to share some insight and perspective on the upbringing that help turn the Compton, Calif. native into Seattle's most-celebrated son:

"It was tough, it will be tough for the average kid," said Monday's guest. "The way our parents raised us to believe in God, to have confidence and faith in what it is that we believe, we were able to make it out, [by] just staying focused in sports, and keeping a positive mind state."

With the dangerous neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles serving as the Sherman brother's home field, Richard and Branton's parents instituted strict rules – which included a disassociation from the prevalent gang culture – so as to keep their sons safe. FULL POST

Rachel Nichols aks Richard Sherman if he has any regrets following Sunday's post-game interview

Roughly two days removed from a post-game interview that dropped jaws and incited reaction across the country, on Tuesday evening Piers Morgan sought additional insight into the man behind the microphone, the Seattle Seahawks' brash cornerback Richard Sherman.

Sherman's pass deflection in Sunday's NFC Championship Game effectively sent the Seahawks to the Super Bowl – Seattle will meet the Denver Broncos on February 2nd – yet it was an energized diatribe launched at San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree that cost him points with many football fans.

As part of an interview that airs in full on CNN's "Unguarded" Friday evening at 10:30 p.m., Rachel Nichols sat down with the defensive star, asking if he's had second thoughts about anything he said: FULL POST

Harvey Weinstein pledges to avoid making future films with egregious violence: "I can't continue to do that. The change starts here"

Coming up this evening at 9, "Piers Morgan Live" rolls out the red carpet for one of Hollywood's biggest movie moguls, as famed producer and studio head Harvey Weinstein joins the program for a face to face interview.

The man who served as executive producer on such blockbusters as "Django Unchained," "Silver Linings Playbook," and "Reservoir Dogs," Weinstein is no stranger to controversy, and often gets behind films with a social conscience.

It's with a similar agenda that he tells Piers Morgan of his pledge to stay away from egregious gun violence in future projects, in the process, answering critics who suggest his verbal attacks against the NRA stand in dark contrast to many of the movies he's helped make. FULL POST

Man who paid $350K for the right to kill a black rhino: "I will say to Bob Barker...the price was wrong"

Amidst a flurry of violent criticism across multiple social media platforms, on Thursday evening Corey Knowlton joined "Piers Morgan Live" for an exclusive primetime interview, during which he offered his explanation as to why he willingly paid 350-thousand dollars for the chance to hunt a back rhinoceros.

As winner of the Dallas Safari Club's auction, Knowlton earned a hunting permit from the Namibian government, and is slated to travel to the southern African nation of Namibia for what he calls a conservation hunt.

Having joined the program last summer after reeling in a record-breaking shark, on Thursday Knowlton returned for a live discussion, and revealed why he selected the CNN host as the man with whom he was willing to share his story:

"Piers, just like the gun thing, you've been attacked just the way I am about your views of guns, okay? We're human beings, both you and I," noted the host of “Jim Shockey’s The Professionals” on Outdoor Channel. "I don't think you should be hated because you believe that. I don't think I should be hated because I lead my life a certain way. They're threatening my children, Piers. They're threatening to kill me." FULL POST

On the backdrop of a day which featured a scandal in the United States Air Force and a series of deadly attacks in Iraq, Wednesday evening saw "Piers Morgan Live" task Robert Gates with providing his unique insight and unparalleled perspective.

"This is very troubling to me," began the former United States Secretary of Defense, referencing news that nearly three dozen nuclear command officers were involved in an incident of widespread cheating on a monthly proficiency exam. "This is one of those capabilities in the military where there is no room for any error, no room for any misbehavior, no room for sloppiness at all ... Having this kind of behavior among those that are responsible for some element of nuclear arsenal is extremely troubling." FULL POST
